Heisig provides a path to learning the bewildering heislg of similar sounding Chinese pronunciations, which is essential to attainment of literacy and which so often bars the way to even the most diligent student….

Start small I’d recommend. I think sometimes people are unable to get past the mental block of ignoring kanji frequencies, and thus get stuck on the idea that if a newspaper uses kanji and you only knowyou’re only going to understand half of the newspaper. Remembering the Kanji, Volume 2 – Memrise
I must agree, but I have found that putting the vocabulary words I want to memorize into sentences greatly aids in remfmbering the word in my mind. I strongly encourage you to add these to your cards, because as much logic as there is in kanji readings resides mostly in these signal primitives.
Ample Indexes at the end of the volume are devoted to hand-drawn kanji, the signal primitives, the Chinese readings, and the Japanese readings, as well as a comprehensive cross-reference list to the material contained in volume 1. Kaanji one thing at a time, learn lanji meanings, and i’d recommended learning basic sentences, so you can at least make progress while doing kanji something i didn’t do, but it doesn’t really matter, i’ve made good progress.

By the way, Heisig strongly recommends against the use of romaji in learning pronunciations. Over the course of this book I’ve come to believe that Heisig’s approach to learning Kanji is fairly misguided.
